FEATURE AUDITIONS

ROAD FILM/COMEDY - “A newly divorced, indecisive woman must go on a last minute, 1700-mile road trip in an old rock n' roll touring van to gather items in time for her father's wedding with her estranged older sister and two soon-to-be step brothers.”

District 22 Studios’ first feature film is going into production this summer! We have 17 supporting roles to fill that will be filming at various points in May, June, and July (details in character breakdowns). The majority of the filming will take place within the Salt Lake Valley, with a few scenes happening in Heber.

We are looking for all ethnicities, unless otherwise specified. Download the audition sides below and submit your self-tape audition to hello@district22studios.com (phone recordings work fine).

It’s our studio’s first feature, so this will be a labor of love for EVERYONE involved and no one will be paid. However, IMDb credit and reel footage will be given for this film. ALLEN (male, 60s, Caucasian)

Shoot Dates (4 Total): May 22nd-24th, one day TBD in June.

Allen is a fun loving, goofy dad. He has two daughters who he wishes he was closer to, and is engaged to Summer.

KAMILLA (female, early 20s)

Shoot Dates (2 Total): Tentative May 21st, one day TBD in June.

Kamilla is a camp counselor from a small town in Montana. She is capable, easy going, with a good head on her shoulders.

ISAK (male, 50s-60s, Nordic)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): Tentative May 27th.

Isak is an old friend of Summer. For 30 years, he’s lived a hermit’s lifestyle alone in the woods. His lack of human interaction makes him strange.

PHILLIP (male, 40s)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): Tentative June 17th.

Phillip oozes desperate cool dad energy. He always wears exercise clothes and drives a big truck.

TED (male, over 40)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD End of May or Early June.

Ted is a high school teacher who sells illegal fireworks to the kids. He keeps to himself and couldn’t care less about your feelings.

CHAD BUSINESSMAN (male, over 20)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD in June.

Chad is an asshole in a suit and sunglasses. He drives a silver corvette, and makes sure you hear it. (Note: this character is not politically correct).

SUMMER (female, 60s, white hair, Caucasian)

Shoot Dates (2 Total): May 22nd-23rd.

Summer was the lead singer in a rock band in the ‘80s. She has two sons she loves deeply, and is engaged to Allen. She’s caring, fun, and laid back.

HARLEY (female, 50s-60s)

Shoot Dates (2 Total): May 23th, one day TBD in June.

Harley owns an antique mall/motorcycle repair shop with her partner Kassidy. Harley is rough, but lovable.

DETECTIVE WRIGHT (20s-30s, Chinese)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD in June.

Detective Wright is character on a hit TV series. They are your classic detective on a network cop show.

PAULETTE (female, 30s-40s)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): Tentative June 17th.

Paulette is married to Phillip. She is not afraid to let you know how she feels.

COUNCILMAN LAGUZIO (male, over 30)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD in June.

Councilman Laguzio is the bad guy on a hit TV series. He has a classic mobster mentality and accent (good or bad, it’s network TV).

CHARLOTTE (female, early 20s)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD in June.

Charlotte is a waitress at a small town diner, and shares those small town values. Her bubbly personality suits her job.

DARWIN (male, 30s, balding, tall)

Shoot Dates (2 Total): TBD June.

Darwin’s married to Amelia, with immediate plans to divorce her. Her feelings mean little to him. He’s focused on his future without Amelia.

KASSIDY (female, 50s-60s)

Shoot Dates (2 Total): May 23th, one day TBD in June.

Kassidy owns an antique mall/motorcycle repair shop with her partner Harley. Kassidy is everyone’s best friend, the yin to Harley’s yang.

ZORG (male, 50s-60s)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): May 20th.

Zorg was a roadie for Summer’s band in the ‘80s, and still dresses like it. Zorg would describe himself as, “weird as Odin’s beard,” and he’d be right.

DR. LINDSEY (over 30)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): Tentative May 27th.

A successful therapist, specializing in correcting patients’ habitual traits. They are ponderous and observant.

FELIX (male, 30s)

Shoot Dates (1 Total): TBD in June.

Felix is an overly optimistic summer camp coordinator. Some people love his personality, for others, he’s a bit much.
